PURPOSE: A composition containing Ixeris dentata Nakai extract for preventing and treating dermatitis is provided to prevent skin barrier damage and to suppress hypersensitivity of IL-1 beta. CONSTITUTION: A pharmaceutical composition for preventing and treating dermatitis contains Ixeris dentata Nakai extract as an active ingredient. The extract reduces IgE and IL-1beta amount in blood. An agent for preventing and treating dermatitis contains the extract as an active ingredient. The agent is manufactured in the form of powder, granules, tablets, capsules, suspension, emulsion, syrup, aerosol, suppository, or sterilized injection solution by adding pharmaceutically acceptable carriers, excipients, or diluents. A health functional food for preventing and treating dermatitis contains the extract as an active ingredient and sitologically acceptable food additives.
