FIELD: engines and pumps.SUBSTANCE: invention relates to multistage modular vacuum pumps, particularly, to seal assemblies incorporated therewith. Vacuum pump 10 comprises two structural elements to be tightly jointed together to make set of chambers. Said set of chambers extends in lengthwise direction from pup inlet to outlet. Seal 30 is fitted inside pump 10 between two structural elements to prevent fluid leaks in vacuum pump and therefrom around aforesaid joint. There several separate elongated channels 32, 34, 36, 38 arranged between said seal 30 and set of chambers. Said channels serve to protect seal 30 against fluid flowing through chambers in operation of vacuum pump 10. Every said channel can receive barrier fluid at pressure other than that on barrier fluid in adjacent channel.EFFECT: improved protection.14 cl, 7 dwg |
