<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a strength improving agent for the production of polyurethane foam. <P>SOLUTION: The strength improving agent (A) for the production of polyurethane foam is expressed by general formula (I), the agent including two of the following hydrogen atoms (a) in the molecule, the hydrogen atom (a) being on an aromatic ring, with carbonyl groups bonded to two carbon atoms adjacent to the carbon atom of the aromatic ring to which the hydrogen atom (a) is bonded; and the strength improving agent has a number average molecular weight of 250 to 800. In formula (I), R1 represents a residue of an active hydrogen-containing compound from which one active hydrogen is removed; a plurality of R1 may be the same or different from one another; Y represents a residue of an aromatic polycarboxylic acid (C) having a valence of 3 or more from which a carboxyl group is removed, and an aromatic ring of Y is composed of carbon atoms; a is an integer satisfying 2≤a≤((the number of aromatic ring substituents)-2); Z represents a residue of an active hydrogen-containing compound having a valence of m or more from which m of active hydrogen atoms are removed; R1 and Z may be the same or different from each other; and m is an integer of 1 or 2. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
