The locking device (1) includes a base main portion (3) having a receiving opening (4) for passing the fixed rope, which is extended in the longitudinal direction. The spacing of receiving opening with respect to the boundary edges (6,7) is limited in a direction orthogonal to longitudinal direction. A clamp (8) is used for clamping the rope into the receiving opening. The clamp is arranged in a specific position which is orthogonal to the longitudinal direction, nearer to one of the boundary edges, to clamp the rope from all positions.
