<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To inspect winding wrinkles occurring in a small film roll into which a transparent or semitransparent film like a wrap film is wound. <P>SOLUTION: In the process of conveying, at a fixed speed, a small film roll into which a wrap film or the like held on a transporting conveyor is wound, the film roll is imaged by a line sensor, and it is determined whether a part which should be normally reflected darkly is reflected brightly due to the influence of wrinkles because incident light is diffused by winding wrinkles or the like occurring in the film roll. A target inspection region is not set to a part of a bright line where incident light is regularly reflected on the surface of the film roll, but is set to an adjacent dark region spaced from the part of the bright line by several pixels. The existence of pixels having brightness higher than normal brightness in the target inspection region shows the possibility of the existence of winding wrinkles, and therefore, the number of the pixels is compared with a preliminarily set threshold. When the total number of the pixels exceeds a criterion, the existence of winding wrinkles is determined to regard the film roll as a defective. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
