<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a release agent coating apparatus suitable to apply an extremely small amount of a release agent to a wide area based on an electrostatic coating method. <P>SOLUTION: The release agent coating apparatus 10 includes an electrostatic coating apparatus, an electrostatic sensor 7, and a controller 6 that regulates a voltage to be applied to a coating nozzle 2. The controller 6 regulates the voltage to be applied to the coating nozzle 2 so that the charging amount of the release agent measured by the electrostatic sensor 7 is equal to or more than a defined charging amount provided beforehand after the release agent is discharged toward the electrostatic sensor 7.
