<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a driving support system or the like for supporting driving of a driver by providing the driver with traffic monitoring information suitable to the present location of a vehicle. <P>SOLUTION: The driving support system refers to a first DB that can specify the position of a section region, and a third DB for storing information about monitoring activities released from the police station of each prefecture. The driving support system specifies a section region where one's own vehicle is located by referring to the first DB on the basis of a one's own vehicle location. The driving support system specifies information about a monitoring activity executed near the one's own vehicle location by referring to the third DB. The one's own vehicle location is overlapped on a map image and is displayed in a main display area 21. The specified section region is displayed in a first sub-display area 22.
