<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem in control complexity, serviceability, and cost due to limited accessibility only to a master HDD or a dedicated communication line required for access in an information processing apparatus mounted with plural storage devices (HDD). <P>SOLUTION: An extended command compliant with the ATA standard is defined, and a selection number for an HDD, a designated ATA command (plurality is possible), and a valid time period (including a count) are added thereto, thereby enabling a designated normal ATA command to have a configuration accessible (forming a path) to a specific HDD for a certain time period. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
