<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent an excessive extension of a pitch between coated optical fibers. <P>SOLUTION: After ultraviolet curable resin 23 is applied so as to entirely cover traveling coated optical fibers 2, a part of the ultraviolet curable resin 23 filling a space between coated optical fibers 2 in an uncured state is removed. As a result, an inter-fiber separation portion 28 for preventing the coated optical fibers 2 from being together coupled by the ultraviolet curable resin 23, and an inter-fiber coupling portion 27 for coupling together the coated optical fibers 2 by the ultraviolet curable resin 23 are intermittently formed in a longitudinal direction of an optical fiber ribbon. After only the ultraviolet curable resin 23 in the uncured state in the inter-fiber separation portion 28 is cured by irradiating only the inter-fiber separation portion 28 with ultraviolet rays, each of spaces between the coated optical fibers 2 is narrowed so that the coated optical fibers 2 are concentrated. When each of the spaces between the coated optical fiber 2 is concentrated to a predetermined value, the ultraviolet curable resin 23 in the uncured state in the inter-fiber coupling portion 27 is irradiated with the ultraviolet rays to be completely cured. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
