<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an AD converter with high conversion accuracy and an electronic apparatus. <P>SOLUTION: The AD converter includes: a first DA conversion section 10 for outputting a residual signal resulting from analog conversion of a digital signal held by first capacitors for first bits; a second DA conversion section 150 for outputting a residual signal resulting from analog conversion of a digital signal held by second capacitors for second bits; an amplification section 140 for amplifying the residual signal output by the first DA conversion section before transfer to the second DA conversion section; a comparison section 120 for outputting binary signals indicating a first result of comparison of the residual signal output by the first DA conversion section with a predetermined reference level and a second result of comparison of the residual signal output by the second DA conversion section with the predetermined reference level; and a successive control section 130 for inputting the binary signal indicating the first comparison result into the first DA conversion section and inputting the binary signal indicating the second comparison result into the second DA conversion section.
