<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a temperature compensation type piezoelectric oscillator which is consistent with input impedance on the side of a device on which the oscillator is mounted. <P>SOLUTION: An oscillator comprises: a temperature sensor 10 for detecting temperature; a compensation voltage generation circuit 11 for generating compensation voltage according to a temperature detection result of the temperature sensor 10; an oscillation circuit 12 comprising a piezoelectric vibrator 6, and for oscillating by a predetermined oscillation frequency on the basis of the compensation voltage; a buffer circuit 13 for buffering oscillation output of the oscillation circuit 12; and a memory 14 for storing various information. The buffer circuit 13 comprises: an amplification circuit for amplifying the oscillation output of the oscillation circuit 12; and a capacity circuit capable of selecting capacity, disposed in output of the amplification circuit.
