PURPOSE: A system and method for controlling an electronic water pump for a vehicle are provided to reduce dark current with the circuit and logic, which control the power supplied to a control system for the electronic water pump. CONSTITUTION: A system(1) for controlling an electronic water pump for a vehicle comprises an electronic water pump(10) and a controller(20). The controller interlocks with an electronic control unit. The controller determines whether or not an engine is off by analyzing a signal from the electronic control unit. If the engine is off, the electronic water pump supplies power from a battery. The controller blocks the power supplied to the electronic water pump from the battery to stop the electronic water pump.
