The device (1) has two synchronizer rings (3, 4) axially displaced and arranged at two sides of a synchronizer body (2). Coupling bodies (5, 6) are in frictional contact with the synchronizer rings, and an interlocking device (8) axially interlocks the synchronizer rings against each other. The interlocking device comprises two retention elements (9, 10), which are engaged at the synchronizer rings. The retention elements are interlocked by a pressure spring (11) and form a spring chamber with supporting surfaces for the pressure spring, where the chamber accommodates the spring.
