401,774. Theft alarms. THOMAS, A., Cleveland, Lonsdale Road, Wolverhampton. June 4, 1932, No. 15802. [Class 118 (i).] When a device C on a vehicle is set by a key D, unauthorised movement of the vehicle causes hammers H to strike the brake drum A on the road wheel and sound an alarm. The device C comprises a striker which is moved axially through the brake drum by the Key D into position to strike a pivoted lever E, F carrying the hammers H. The lever E, F is mounted on the brake housing and is controlled by a pair of coil springs G. In a modification the striker is fixed to the brake drum, and the spindle of the pivoted lever E, F is moved axially by means of a pair of solenoids controlled by a switch on the dashboard. |
