An awakening inducing device (10) which comprises an awakening level-determining part (16) for determining the awakening level of a driver, a stress level-determining part (17) for determining the stress level of the driver, an air conditioning system (6) for heating the driver's hands, and a temperature controlling part (18) for controlling the air conditioning system (6) depending on the determination results obtained from the awakening level-determining part (16) and the determination results obtained from the stress level-determining part (17), wherein the temperature controlling part (18) controls the air conditioning system (6) in such a manner that, in the case where the awakening level of the driver is higher than a first threshold (TH1) and the stress level of the driver is higher than the second threshold (TH2), the driver's hands are heat-stimulated on the basis of a biological mechanism whereby the dilation of peripheral blood vessels caused by heat stimulation promotes heat radiation, thereby inducing the driver's awakening level to normal state.
