The method involves injecting fuel into the cylinder associated with the combustion chamber. The high-resolution rotational speed ??signal of the internal combustion engine (101) is provided by speed sensor. The smooth running of the internal combustion engine is controlled by controller (R) via two working cycles of cylinder by assigning working cycles (AS1-AS3) for each cylinder. The correction amounts of the fuel injection quantity are determined on the basis of the discretized values of the rotational speed signal assigned to the cylinders.
