IMAGE PROCESSING DEVICE AND METHOD

This feature pertains to an image processing device and method making it possible to improve the encoding efficiency of image data. This image processing device is provided with a decoding unit for decoding encoded data obtained by encoding an image, and generating transform coefficient data; and an inverse quantization unit for inversely quantizing the transform coefficient data generated by the decoding unit, by using a quantization sequence set according to a prediction mode used when encoding the image. This disclosure can be applied to an image processing device.
