PURPOSE: A sterilizable or washable water treatment apparatus and a sterilizing and washing method of the apparatus are provided to effectively sterilize and wash water without an expensive electrode sterilizing module. CONSTITUTION: A sterilizable or washable water treatment apparatus(200) includes a filtering part, a storage tank, and a detachable electrode sterilizing module(210). The storage tank stores water filtered through a filtering part. The detachable electrode sterilizing module includes an electrode unit and is installed on a flow path in connection with the storage tank. Power is applied to the electrode unit to generate sterilizing and washing water including sterilizing or washing materials. The sterilizing and washing water sterilizes or washes the storage tank.
