A device for supporting a hand-held, machine-driven tool (10) includes a harness structure (11) which is carried by a worker in the manner of a backpack. The harness structure (11) has attached thereto a frame (12) which lies on the back of the worker. A tube (15) extending upwardly and forwardly from the frame (12) forms a guide means for a line element (20). The line element (20) extends in the tube (15) from the setting spring (23) in a balancer reel (22) on the frame (12), over the worker (40) to a suspension hook (21) which is located in front of the worker (40) and on which the tool (10) is hung in a weight-balanced state by virtue of appropriate pre-setting of the setting spring (23). The balancer reel (22) is located at a suitable selected distance S from the worker's back and functions as a tool counterbalancing weight so as not to disturb the equilibrium of the worker (40) during a working operation. |
