<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To manufacturing an elevator which avoids disadvantages of known equipment and has 4:1 cable guidance simple in structure. <P>SOLUTION: A drive unit (5) and a first deflecting roller (8) are arranged on a carrier (21) supported by one side end of a first cage guide rail (15) and a first counter weight guide rail (19), and the other side end of a second counter weight guide rail (20). These guide rails are connected to an elevation path wall by means of yokes so that a vertical rail force is transmitted to an elevation path pit. A driving bracket (23) arranged on the carrier supports the drive unit (5) and a drive pulley (3). A roller bracket (24) arranged on the carrier supports the first deflecting roller (8). Furthermore, a first cable fixation point (6) and a second cable fixation point (13) are arranged on the carrier.
