<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an antidementia agent which is free from the problem of side effects and is excellent in safety and an agent for improving learning and memory which is useful for improvement of learning and memory and can be ingested continuously. <P>SOLUTION: It is discovered that 2,5-piperazinedione, 3,6-bis(phenylmethyl)-, (3R, 6S)-(9Cl) found in a food has SERT binding inhibitory activity, enhances a serotonin concentration of prefrontal area and has antidepressant activity. Further since inhibiting acetylcholine degrading enzyme activity, increasing an acetylcholine concentration in hippocampus with deepest reference to learning and memory and raising a percentage of correct answers of a radial maze test using a scopolamine-induced learning disorder rat used widely as a dementia animal model, 2,5-piperazinedione, 3,6-bis(phenylmethyl)-, (3R, 6S)-(9Cl) has learning and memory improving action. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
