A detection method and a detection device for a pixel array (1) are provided. The method includes the steps of: charging a sample pixel area comprising a defective pixel unit and a normal pixel unit by different testing voltages; setting up a look-up table for luminance threshold values based on the luminance values of each pixel unit under the different testing voltages; when detecting a pixel area (11) to be detected, charging the pixel area (11) to be detected, and choosing a suitable luminance value from the look-up table for the luminance threshold values based on the voltage value and the luminance value of the pixel area to be detected; and detecting whether the pixel unit (111) in the pixel area (11) to be detected has defects based on the luminance threshold value. The misjudgment can be reduced and thus the detection accuracy is improved.
