Disclosed in the present invention are a method for enabling session border controller pool and a session border controller. A session border controller pool is composed of at least two session border controllers in this invention. The at least two SBCs can enable disaster tolerant backup with each other, and have the same IP address to a terminal device. Whether the terminal device is registered in the session border controller pool is judged. If the terminal device has been registered in the pool, service information is transmitted to the SBC which the terminal device has been registered. Special demand for the terminal device is avoided when the SBCs are in disaster tolerant backup, the terminal device has no need to configure two IP address. And then, all the devices in the SBC pool can deal with the service information, utilization rate of resource is improved. |
