The invention relates to a display device comprising a transparent, tinted glass-ceramic element that has a front display face and a rear illumination face, at least one illuminant being arranged on the illumination face. In order to design an inexpensive and robust display device in a simple manner, a color compensation filter is indirectly or directly applied to the glass-ceramic element in the form of a color coating.
