<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle power supply device enabling a reduction in the diameter of an electric wire for supplying power to an on-vehicle load which operates intermittently only for a short time. <P>SOLUTION: This vehicle power supply device includes an electric wire 6 connecting an on-vehicle load 1 and a power supply device 5, and an operation switch 4 interposed in the electric wire 6. The electric wire 6 has smoke-emitting characteristics which emit smoke in an electrification time according to a conduction current value. The vehicle power supply device is configured to include a switch 3 having an overheat cutoff function in which cutting-off is performed by an electrification time according to a conduction current value, connected, in series, to the operation switch 4, and operating in conjunction with the operation switch 4. The overheat cutoff function of the switch 3 performs the cutting-off by a time shorter than the electrification time of the smoke-emitting characteristics of the electric wire 6 at the same conduction current value. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
