<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus allowing a charging unit to be removed and exchanged with the minimum size of the apparatus and the minimum cost increase, even if there is no space for drawing out the charging unit when opening an opening/closing cover. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus includes a slider crank mechanism 37 (slider guide members 21, a link part), which slides and moves the charging unit 20 to the outside of a reverse passage 19 in conjunction with swinging opening movements from a closing position to an opening position of the opening/closing cover 15, and moves the charging unit 20 to a removing position where the charging unit 20 is removable from an apparatus body when the opening/closing cover 15 occupies the opening position. Even if there is no space for drawing out the charging unit 20 by opening the opening/closing cover 15, exchanging a charging roller 8, etc., maintenance, and cleaning can be carried out by removing the charging unit 20 from the apparatus body with the minimum size of the apparatus and the minimum cost increase. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
