<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus that outputs high-quality binary image data to a storage medium. <P>SOLUTION: Multiple pieces of different mask data stored in a storing device 104 are used to produce multiple pieces of different divided data, and frequency characteristics information for each of thinned images generated are calculated. The frequency characteristics information of the thinned images are compared with one another, and a divided mask pattern to be applied to input image data is selected from the plurality of mask data stored in the storing device to form an image using the selected divided mask pattern. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
