<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an endoscope apparatus and the like that displays a region of interest in a proper size and grasps the whole subject. <P>SOLUTION: The endoscope apparatus includes an image acquisition unit, a region of interest setting unit 413, and a variable power processing unit 414. The image acquisition unit acquires a captured image including a subject image. The region of interest setting unit 413 sets the region of interest for the captured image on the basis of information from the endoscope apparatus.
