PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image reading device for removing influence by frequency diffusion of drive clocks with a smaller number of components, and an image forming device provided with the image reading device.

SOLUTION: An image reading device comprises: characteristic acquisition means for acquiring a time change characteristic of frequency diffusion on the basis of a first image signal obtained by operating an imaging device with a timing signal generated using a reference signal to read a reference object having a prescribed reference color and a second image signal obtained by operating the imaging device with a timing signal generated using a frequency diffusion signal to read the reference object; and correction means for correcting a third image signal obtained by operating the imaging device with the timing signal generated using the frequency diffusion signal to read an object to be read with a correction value in which the time change characteristic was reflected and outputting the corrected image signal as a fourth image signal.
