<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a biometric authentication apparatus capable of appropriately selecting a registered user as a collation subject in a 1:N authentication method. <P>SOLUTION: The biometric authentication apparatus (1) includes: a collation data generating section (25) that generates a piece of collation data from at least one biological image which contains plural pieces of biological information of a user; an inter-biological-information feature amount extraction section (27) that extracts an inter-biological-information feature amount representing a degree of similarity between two pieces of biological information in plural pieces of biological information contained in the biological image; a selecting section (34) that calculates a first selection score based on the user's inter-biological-information feature amount and a registered user's inter-biological-information feature amount for each of a first predetermined number of registered users and selects a predetermined second number of registered users in order from a registered user corresponding to the first selection score which shows a higher degree of similarity between the user's plural pieces of biological information and the registered user's plural pieces of biological information; and a collation section (35) that collates the collation data of the selected registered user with the user's collation data. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
