PURPOSE: A step-up converter for driving an inverter of an electric vehicle is provided to increase electric reliability by minimizing the number of output voltage power semiconductor devices. CONSTITUTION: A converter(100) is located in a front-end of a full-bridge inverter(200). The full-bridge inverter is connected to a load of an output terminal(300). The converter includes an input voltage source(10), an output capacitor(30), an input switch(20), inductance(40), and a diode(50). The diode is connected between the output capacitor and a cathode terminal of the inductor. The output capacitor is serially connected to an anode terminal of the input voltage source.
