<p>PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for driving a light emitting diode array, and a liquid crystal display device using the same are provided to delete an internal pressure compensation configured in a current sink shift and to prevent the damage of the current sink shift. CONSTITUTION: Switching units are connected between a light emitting diode string(812) and a ground power. The switching units switch the current value flowing through the light emitting diode string. An LED array driver(920) controls the switching unit. An off current is discharged if the off dimming control signal is received from the LED array driver. A power supply unit(910) apples an array driving voltage between the light emitting diode string and a power source.
