<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a building that allows reduction in workload of an air conditioner. <P>SOLUTION: A building 10 is provided with an entrance 11, a corridor 12, a living room 13, and an equipment room 14. The equipment room 14 is equipped with an air conditioner 20 and located adjacent to an entrance hall (a continuous space of the corridor 12 and the entrance 11). Entrance into and exit from the equipment room 14 can be made from the entrance hall through a corridor-side doorway 26 that is provided with a sliding door 27. In the state where the sliding door 27 is closed, ventilation between the entrance hall and the equipment room 14 through the corridor-side doorway 26 is shut off. The living room 13 is separated by a partition wall 19 from the entrance hall and located adjacent to the equipment room 14 with a partition wall 25 interposed therebetween. The partition wall 25 is provided with a living room-side doorway 28 that allows entrance and exit between the living room 13 and the equipment room 14.
