<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately calculate a traveling-azimuth. <P>SOLUTION: A traveling-azimuth calculation device includes: a detection part for detecting, of acceleration generated in association with a user walking, vertical acceleration representing acceleration in vertical directions and horizontal acceleration representing an azimuth and a magnitude of acceleration in a horizontal plane; a walking cycle setup part for setting a period equivalent to two steps of the user as walking cycle on the basis of a zero-cross point of the vertical acceleration; an acceleration/deceleration switch phase setup part for setting an acceleration/deceleration switch phase at which the acceleration and deceleration in the traveling direction of the user are switched on the basis of a phase at which the magnitude of the horizontal acceleration is minimum in a walking cycle; an acceleration/deceleration section estimation part for estimating each section segregated by acceleration/deceleration switch phase alternatively as acceleration section and deceleration section; and a traveling-azimuth determination part for determining a traveling-azimuth of the user on the basis of an azimuth indicated by the horizontal acceleration in the deceleration section and of an azimuth opposite to the azimuth indicated by the horizontal acceleration in the acceleration section. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
