<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid ejection device that further surely prevents liquid-droplets, ejected from a nozzle, from being deposited inside the device, and a control method for the same. <P>SOLUTION: The liquid ejection device includes: a liquid jet head 2 that has a nozzle forming surface, on which a nozzle 30 to eject liquid is formed, and a pressure generating means 20 to cause a pressure fluctuation in liquid in a pressure chamber 28, and allows liquid to be ejected from the nozzle 30 toward a landing target 6 by driving the pressure generating means 20; a support means 5 that is arranged spaced apart with respect to the nozzle forming surface of the liquid jet head 2 when executing the ejection operation and supports the landing target 6; and an electric-field forming means 58 for forming an electric field directed from the support means 5 to the nozzle forming surface.
