<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image reading apparatus which improves accuracy of correction processing of image data. <P>SOLUTION: The first position of a foreign substance at a reading position is detected before reading an image. Thereafter, a document is made to pass through over the reading position to read the image, and the second position of the foreign substance at the reading position is detected. If the positions in a direction orthogonal to a document feeding direction are different between the first and second positions of the detected foreign matters, the read image is corrected on the basis of the first and second positions. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
