<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To quickly stabilize output light in restoring the output of a light source by suppressing an increase in a drive voltage when the output of the light source is shut down. <P>SOLUTION: The control method for an optical transmitter 1 controls, in the optical transmitter 1 including an external modulator 5, output light from the optical transmitter 1 by adjusting a bias voltage to be applied to the external modulator 5. The control method feedback controls the bias voltage on the basis of a monitoring signal of the output light by an optical detecting element 7 and, when detecting the shut-down of the output light, feedback controls the bias voltage so as to retain the bias voltage to an immediately preceding voltage. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
