FIELD: chemistry.SUBSTANCE: disclosed is a method of producing aromatic copolyamides via low-temperature polycondensation of a mixture of aromatic diamines: 5(6)amino-2-(para-aminophenyl)benzimidazole and one or more diamines of formula (2) (as a version - together with a diamine of formula (1)) with haloanhydrides of aromatic diacids of formula (3) in the medium of an amide solvent with a salt additive. Also disclosed is wet or dry-and-wet moulding of fibres from the disclosed polycondensation solutions. NH-Ar-NH(1), NH-Ar-NH(2), ClOC-Ar-COCl (3) Arand Arare divalent para-aromatic radicals: Ar=, where X=H, Alk, AlkO, Hal, wherein Alk, AlkO are lower C-Calkyl radicals; Hal is mainly Cl; Aris a complex aromatic groupand (or), where X=X=Cl; X=Cl, X=H.
