<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device with excellent display quality. <P>SOLUTION: A liquid crystal display device includes: a first substrate including a plurality of first signal wires extending in a first direction, a plurality of second signal wires extending in a second direction intersecting with the first direction, and a pixel electrode disposed between the adjacent second signal wires and extending in the second direction; a second substrate including common electrodes including a main common electrode facing each of the second signal wires and extending in the second direction; a liquid crystal layer held between the first substrate and the second substrate. In an effective region surrounded by the first signal wire and the second signal wire or the main common electrode in a plane specified by the first direction and the second direction, a first area of an electrode part including the pixel electrode is smaller than a second area of a non-electrode part other than the electrode part. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
