<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heating and cooling system capable of controlling the temperature of the dwelling environment so as to be comfortable. <P>SOLUTION: In a heating and cooling system, an indoor staircase 18 includes balusters 21, 23, 22, and 24 and a handrail 32 that include hollow portions 21A, 23A, 22A, 24A, and 32A, respectively, through which warm water or cold water is caused to flow. Above a tread 20 of the staircase 18, a stairwell area 70 is provided, which makes it difficult to adjust the temperature.
