<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a crossflow type vertical shaft wind turbine having a wind guide port opened in all directions so that wind collides with blades 7 disposed on at least two positions for making effective use of the blown wind to increase the rotating efficiency of a rotating shaft 6. <P>SOLUTION: The blades 7 and wind guide plates 3 are rectangular plates having curved faces. A crossflow turbine part 1 has the blades 7 annularly disposed around the rotating shaft 6 with the recessed side surfaces of the curved faces in the same peripheral direction. Outside the crossflow turbine part 1, the wind guide plates 3 are annularly disposed via a clearance 2 with the recessed side surfaces of the curved faces in the same peripheral direction.
