<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a driver protection device which achieves a compact and inexpensive structure, allows easy installation, and provides low profile, and sure safety of drivers while minimizing harm which may be given during the operation. <P>SOLUTION: In a driver protection device 100, a restraint frame body 110 includes an opening frame section 112 which has a contour running along a spatial circumference between a driver's seat 170 and a passenger's seat 180 and is open in the center and a rotating shaft section 111 which is a rotational center of the opening frame section 112. An opening surface of the opening frame section 112 is installed so that a space is open between the driver's seat and the passenger's seat in the forward/backward direction. A drive mechanism 130 can drive the rotation from a standby position for opening the opening frame section 112 of the restraint frame body 110 in the forward/backward direction to one direction. The drive mechanism 130 is housed in a console box 150 installed between the driver's seat 170 and the passenger's seat 180. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
