<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric motor which can reduce an axis voltage in simple configuration. <P>SOLUTION: An electric motor is fixed to a machine body, a stator coil is wound via a slot insulating paper sheet inside a slot of a stator iron core, and a wedge is mounted at a slot opening side. The electric motor comprises a stator in which drive control is performed on the stator coil by an inverter device, and a rotor which is disposed with a predetermined air gap interposed between the stator and the rotor and of which a rotary shaft is supported through a bearing to the machine body.
