<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrode in which an active material particle and a solid electrolyte particle come in contact with each other more sufficiently than before, and to provide an all-solid state nonaqueous electrolyte battery using the electrode. <P>SOLUTION: The electrode is provided with an active material layer which contains an active material powder formed of the active material particles and a solid electrolyte powder formed of the solid electrolyte particles. The active material particle (active material powder) is lithium titanate having a BET specific surface area of 1 m<SP POS="POST">2</SP>/g or more but less than 10 m<SP POS="POST">2</SP>/g. In addition, the solid electrolyte particle contained in the active material layer has an average particle diameter smaller than an average particle diameter of the active material particle.
