<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new evaluation method for evaluating overexposure concerning a blackish metallic color. <P>SOLUTION: An overexposure evaluation method for evaluating a metallic black color requires to prepare multiple color patches changed in the amount, brightness, saturation and hue of a metallic material first. Then, color measurement is performed in a regular reflection direction and irregular reflection direction concerning the respective color patches, and the brightness in the irregular reflection direction, and a color difference between the regular reflection direction and the irregular reflection direction are acquired so as to plot the relation. Then, the existence of generation of the overexposure is evaluated concerning the respective color patches. Subsequently the results of the plotting are classified into an aggregation with the overexposure and an aggregation without the overexposure, and overexposure determination reference is set based on relation between the brightness in the irregular reflection direction and the color difference. Then, color measurement is performed concerning an evaluation object color, the brightness in the irregular reflection direction and a color difference are acquired, and then, the overexposure is evaluated based on relation between the acquired brightness and color difference value and the set determination reference. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
