PURPOSE: A fringe field switching liquid crystal display device and a method for fabricating the same are provided to form a common electrode and a black matrix on an array panel by a half-tone exposure process. CONSTITUTION: A gate line(116) and a data line(117) are formed. A thin film transistor is formed. A common electrode(108) is formed in a pixel portion of a first substrate by using a half tone mask. A black matrix(106) is formed on the common electrode. A passivation film is formed on the first substrate. A pixel electrode(118) is formed on the first substrate. The first substrate is attached to the second substrate. |
