<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cooling device which suppresses displacement of a housing caused by thermal elongation of a radiation fin so as to reliably join parts constituting the housing. <P>SOLUTION: A cooling device 1 for cooling a heating element with liquid coolant comprises a housing 30 formed by joining an upper plate member 40 and a lower plate member 50. A hollow space 60 serving as a coolant passage is formed between the upper plate member 40 and the lower plate member 50. The heating element is brought into thermal contact with an outer face 48 of the housing 30. The cooling device 1 further comprises a radiation fin 70 arranged in the hollow space 60. The lower plate member 50 has a fin mounting surface 51 on which the radiation fin 70 is placed. The fin mounting surface 51 is provided with a recess 52 which is formed by part of the fin mounting surface 51 recessed in an extension direction of the radiation fin 70.
