摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic resonance imaging apparatus which is mounted in a gantry under a condition in which an RF coil for topical delivery of an RF pulse is not connected, capable of avoiding the wreck of the RF coil for topical delivery even if the RF pulse is applied to a WB coil, and keeping the safety of the subject. <P>SOLUTION: The magnetic resonance imaging apparatus involves a data-collecting system and a control system. The data-collecting system collects magnetic resonance signals from the subject. The control system generates image data based on the magnetic resonance signal. The data-collecting system comprises a whole body coil, a high frequency coil and a disconnection circuit. The whole body coil is a coil for applying a high frequency magnetic field to the image region. The high frequency coil is disposed inside the whole body coil and applies a high frequency magnetic field to the image region when a high frequency pulse is applied. The disconnection circuit electrically disconnects a portion of the circuit configuring the high frequency coil when the connector of the high frequency coil is not connected to the control system. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT
