<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress current consumption by limiting a function of a portable terminal when a battery residual amount is small, and to operate a device as long as there is a sufficient charging current from the outside even when the battery residual amount is small. <P>SOLUTION: A portable electronic device includes a battery residual amount measuring circuit 202 for detecting a residual amount of a chargeable battery 205, and a charging current measuring circuit 203 for detecting a charging current from a charger 206. When it is determined that the battery residual amount has lowered from a detection value of the battery residual amount measuring circuit 202, whether or not the charging current is below a threshold is determined by the charging current measuring circuit 203 further, and a function is limited in order to suppress current consumption only in the case that the battery residual amount has lowered and the charging current is below the threshold. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
