<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compact apparatus configured so that when switching lean simulated exhaust gas to stoichiometric or rich simulated exhaust gas or switching in the reverse, gas atmosphere existing before passing a catalyst to be evaluated is quickly and uniformly displaced over the whole cross section of the catalysis. <P>SOLUTION: The apparatus includes: an exhaust gas introduction tube 1 into which exhaust gas or simulated exhaust gas is introduced from a one-end 1a side; a catalyst storage tube 2 having a diameter larger than that of the exhaust gas introduction tube 1 and capable of storing an exhaust gas purification catalyst 3 in its inside; a tube connection part 4 connecting the other end 1b of the exhaust gas introduction tube 1 to one end 2a of the catalyst storage tube 2; and a heating part 5 arranged on the outside of the exhaust gas introduction tube 1, the tube connection part 4 and the catalyst storage tube 2. A circular porous rectifier 7 having a plurality of vent holes is arranged so as to face the exhaust gas purification catalyst 3 on a position separated from the exhaust gas purification catalyst 3 stored in the catalyst storage tube 2 or the tube connection part 4 to the exhaust gas introduction tube side. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
